The final exam

Ninety minutes, closed book, six exercises. Everything below is the syllabus's own rules, so that nothing about the format is a surprise on the day. The date and room are on Cyberlearn.

By the end of Week 16 you will be able to

  • Know the format: 90 minutes, six exercises of ten points, graded to the half point, 60% of the course grade.
  • Bring exactly what is allowed: a simple non-programmable calculator and two hand-written sheets (both sides).
  • Leave at home what is not: computers, phones, communication devices of any kind.
  • Hand in the pizzeria file — the individual project — by the deadline on Cyberlearn.

Section 16.1 · The format

What the paper looks like

Six exercises · ten points each · 90 minutes

  • One exercise per block of the course: describe · probability and the normal · sampling and estimation · a test · two samples or regression · chi-square or ANOVA. Each is one of the archetypes in the exam cards, with fresh numbers.
